As a team of filmmakers and artists, our real enthusiasm lies in producing film that is critical, honest and meaningful. We are proud to produce self-driven film with an artistic angle, from documentary, to music videos, to fiction. These are projects born from our own ideas and interests, and which grow through our internal support.
To The Dancers
To The Dancers is a documentary about an alternative community space in the East End of Newcastle. Cobalt Studios CIC is a venue, collection of artist studios and growing workspace for creatives of the city. People go there to dance, create and feel safe. Our project is an exploration of what goes on behind the scenes - we interviewed members of the Cobalt family and documented its events, as well as the everyday graft. What is necessary to keep a UK-based, DIY music venue, against a backdrop of gentrification and cost of living crisis? Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Maybe you want to launch a business.
PACT House
Our documentary on PACT House, a food bank and community centre in the ex-mining town Stanley, County Durham, was an insight into what happens in such places at Christmas, during a pandemic. We interviewed the devoted volunteers who make the place run - providing hot meals, internet, activities, advice and company to anyone who wants it. We spent time documenting PACT House through the winter of 2020 and edited together this film as sensitively and compassionately as we could.
