COMMUNITY SERVICES: PROMOTIONAL FILM

Community Services play a pivotal role in ensuring patients are well looked after and cared for while in the community, whether that be at their own home or care home and regardless of how far or near that may be. Your needs are just as important as inpatients, and the dedicated team of community staff are on hand to ensure that patient centred care is there for you.

This was the second in the series of films we created for Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. It promotes the tireless work of their staff and focused on those who work primarily in the community.

NORTH TYNESIDE GENERAL HOSPITAL: PROMOTIONAL FILM

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust asked us to make a series of films celebrating the amazing work and the people that make their hospitals function everyday. From the cleaners, to the porters, to the nurses, to the admin staff, to the doctors and those that work in the restaurant, each member of the hospital plays a vital role in making the hospital happen everyday, no matter what.

--------------------

This was such an open opening experience and we had the chance to film a live surgery too. We spent over 4 days filming all the various aspects of the hospital and often filming began at 6am and it goes to show how much effort and work these people put into their jobs everyday.

USHER SYNDROME

Usher syndrome is a genetic condition which affects both hearing and vision. Few have heard of it, even among NHS staff. That’s why Northumbria Healthcare asked us to produce a film to help spread awareness.

We developed a script which focuses on the life of Jo Milne, who was diagnosed with Usher syndrome aged 16 and has since founded the charity CureUsher. Through re-enactments, we moulded together a ‘day in the life’ of Jo. We aimed to portray the difficulties of living with the condition - made even more challenging by others’ lack of awareness - and used visual effects to illustrate Jo’s field of vision. We added interviews with health professionals to support the narrative. We hope that by watching this film, audiences will be able to engage with the topic and understand more about the condition.
